Married in Deadwood Sept. 16, 1913, to Eva Morford, they went to Virginia with the Southern Lumber Company where he was superintendent for about a year. This tract of land was, when he settled upon it, a part of an unbroken wilderness which covered that portion of Wisconsin bordering upon lake Michigan, but which has been transformed, through his industry diligence and thrift, into one of the finest farms in the state.
